8th Grade World Geography

Welcome to CAMS North!  

The World Geography course is designed to teach students about both the location and the culture of regions throughout the world. 
We start with a review of map skills and geographic concepts that we will use throughout the school year. 
Throughout the year, we will examine some new and - for many - unfamiliar parts of the world including Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. 
Students will be expected to learn the map locations and geographic features of the regions that we study, as well as cultural and other aspects of those regions such as customs and traditions, wars and histories. 
We will also spend a great deal of time studying current events. 
Your child will be required to participate in a variety of activities in each unit, including journaling, current events investigations, creative tasks, tests and quizzes, homework assignments and periodic in-class projects.    

Grades for World Geography are always available for you to view on our grading program, Sapphire.
